The scope, the innovations and the methodology of CLIMADEMY
The innovations CLIMADEMY brings to climate change education.
• The STEM advanced topic of climate change, which is perceived as one of the biggest societal challenges that young people should be educated in and confront.
• The Development of a Community of Practice among teachers, natural scientists and teacher educators, as well as teachers’ networks as means of teacher education and professional development.
• The use of data from openly available databases, the analysis of them to generate the relevant information and their visualization, as a way to develop teachers’ inquiry skills and their engagement in scientific practices.
• The out-of-school educational process that builds on the experience of the Finnish and Greek partners, gained from the atmospheric monitoring stations participation in the ACTRIS and ICOS transnational access and scientific training activities at the participating stations.
